Mr. Pooyouma is the last known living Hopi Codetalker. America's Veterans and the Library of Congress' Veteran History Project, are in the process of making arrangements for Mr. Pooyouma to be recognized for his services.

Mr. Pooyouma was named Arizona's "Indian Living Treasure". He is one of the few remaining Hopi Textile weavers, and to date, continues to make and market his Hopi ceremonial Moccasins.
