General Ware resigned and retired from the military on May 1, 2003. His
41-year military career includes: four years of active duty in the U.S. Marine
Corps; seven years in the U. S. Army and thirty years in the California Army National
Guard. Ware's last assignment was as Chief Assistant Adjutant for the California
National Guard, which expires December 31st, 2011.
