DoD Identifies Army Casualties

The Department of Defense announced today the deaths of two soldiers supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. They died July 11 in Samarra, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near their convoy vehicle. Both soldiers were assigned to the 267th Ordnance Company, Nebraska National Guard, Lincoln, Neb.

Killed were:

Sgt. 1st Class Linda Ann Tarango-Griess, 33, of Sutton, Neb.

Sgt. Jeremy J. Fischer, 26, of Lincoln, Neb.

The incident is under investigation.
