The Department of Defense announced today the death of two soldiers supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. They died July 11 near Al Hillah, Iraq, when the vehicle they were riding in was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle. Both soldiers were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 94th Field Artillery Brigade, Baumholder, Germany. Killed were:

Sgt. James G. West, 34, of Watertown, N.Y.

Spc. Dana N. Wilson, 26, of Fountain, Colo.

The incident is under investigation.
