The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Department of the Army Civilian who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Barbara Heald, 60, of Stanford, Conn., died Jan.29 in Baghdad, Iraq, when the Republic National Palace was hit by a mortar round. Heald worked for the Project and Contracting Office - Finance.
