The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sgt. James J. Regan, 26, of Manhasset, N.Y., died Feb. 9 in northern Iraq of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle while on combat patrol.Regan was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Ga.
