The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Pfc. Patrick A. Devoe, II, 27, of Auburn, N.Y., died March 8 in Kandau Kalay, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 40th Cavalry Regiment 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska.
