After serving in the military, Slick became the youngest Journeyman in the Carpenters Union, and has earned the title of Master Cabinet Maker. During his career he also earned two World Land Speed Records at Bonneville Salt Flats and El Mirage Dry Lakes. He recently returned to Drag Boat Racing where he is in the Top Eliminator Class. Aside from cabinetry and racing, he is the owner of Slick Harley Rentals in Waimea, on the Big Island of Hawaii.
