Mr. Johnson and his younger brother, David "Big Bear" Johnson, are the founders of the San Joaquin River Intertribal Heritage Educational Corporation, a non-profit organization whose purpose is to bring cultural awareness and education to children and adults, alike.
In the past ten years, they have not only brought their dream to fruition in teaching and mentoring students, the Board who has decided to donate 120 acres of land to our veterans for a place to rehabilitate and heal through art, will continue to carry on their dream.

Mr. Johnson passed away April 1, 2012 in CA surrounded by his family.
America's Veterans wishes to thank Richard for his unwavering support of our veterans and for the role he played as our Honorary Board Member. He will truly be missed.
